    **********

I bought a “ticket” for the broadcast in October 2020, and couldn’t wait for this DVD to arrive in December!

A SUPERB show and an excellent production (audio and video). Probably won’t ever get to see them in Branson due to the distance, so will enjoy this on a regular basis!

A MUST for all Petersens fans!

Front Row Concert Seats. This DVD puts you live, with “front row seats”, at a recent concert (don’t worry a COVID-19 compliant small screened audience) of a very special band, The Petersens who, at the end of their performance, will likely leave you thinking “Wow, they’re great, why haven’t I heard of them before?” It was a personal discovery for me when I stumbled across some videos posted on You Tube back in April of the global COVID crisis, while looking for someone else’s (Alison Krauss) music, and what a happy, continuing discovery it has become. Maybe you know the story of Alison: winning fiddle contests at 12, playing in a band at a young age, sending a demo to a small label in Boston and being signed sight unseen at 14 and staying loyal to that label over many years, as well as her legendary humility, class, angelic voice and pure talent which, along with her impeccable band, took her without a big backing label to more Grammys (27) than any living female artist and just recently only exceeded by the legend Quincy Jones for living male artists with 28. So, any favorable comparison between the Petersens and Alison would be the biggest compliment I could deliver, and Alison Krauss is an acknowledged role model for this band. What we have here in this DVD (and their other content) is a lovable family band with similar (to Alison) instrumentation masterfully learned from childhood, champions of American roots music, but with pure talent that can successfully cross into many genre, genuine humility and class, each member with their unique musical talents which are equally shared with us across the band, but with an uncanny ability to harmonize together, and all having fun while entertaining us. When one realizes that, while they have been the number one act in Branson (a live music mecca) since 2018, they were relatively unknown outside that circle with no backing record label; one can really be impressed by how they have gained a global following. Those frequent posted You Tube videos of songs sung live in their bubble without an audience gave me and a growing global audience a treasure of talent left to be discovered and shared. So put the DVD in, sit back and enjoy the concert and experience what this special band has to offer. Then, maybe someday (in the interim they will surely only get even better) we can actually see them in person!
